What's a heifer, anyway?

Slide055

That's a question we're often asked.  The answer is simple:

A heifer is a young cow who has not yet had a calf of her own.  And who is very cute, as you can see.

Come to the Strolling of the Heifers Parade on Saturday, June 5 to see nearly 100 heifers, bedecked with flowers, ambling up Brattleboro's historic Main Street. Be prompt — the parade starts at 10 a.m. sharp, and the heifers lead the parade!
